Live Honey Bee Removals

The removal of a hive by a novice can escalate from a few minor stings to a fatal situation. Bees can become very aggressive when it comes to defending their hive in a homeowner’s house or backyard. Re-homing bees rather than eradicating them is part of Jason’s model. Since 2007, the USDA has noted a decline in the bee population due to natural menaces (weather patterns, small hive beetles, mites, bacteria, viruses) and unnatural menaces (pesticides). The decline of the overall bee population is a very serious topic for the agricultural world. Small operations, such as JC’s Honey Bees, are helping to reduce the eradication by offering the bees an opportunity to find a new home and pollinate the agriculture around them. Even overly aggressive bees can be safely removed from a homeowner’s property. The bees are removed, taken to a remoted apiary, placed into a new hive box, and then requeened. Requeening a hive can positively change the personality and genetics of the colony in a short period of time. Once situated, the bees are fed a diet of sugar water to help provide the calories that are necessary to start the reconstruction of their home. Usually within 2 weeks they are settled in and doing well.

Jason has acquired his permit from the state of Texas for live honey bee removals. He has 7 years of experience in removing honey bees from residential and commercial properties.
